2010 10 09: Saturday: BCU 2 star trip - River Yeo

Part of the BCU 2 star syllabus is to do a trip. Trips always benefit students as they allow them to put into practice the strokes they have learnt in a real environment and over a reasonable distance. It also gives them a basis for trip planning; they have to produce a small trip plan as part of the syllabus.

The paddle along the River Yeo is a pleasant meandering trip, full of wild life. It is about 4.5km to a sluice before returning, making a round trip of approx 9km, taking about 3-4 hours paddling.

We were lucky with the weather, and although it didn't rain and sun was promised but didn't arrive, it was a warm day.
