2009 06 13 Exeter Quay to Exmouth Sailing Club

This was a trip organised by Exmouth Sailing Club in aid of the RNLI. After driving a car to the destination point, near Exmouth Sailing Club, we launched at Exeter Quay. It is a pretty route but we were paddling into a head wind funnelled along the channel making progress a bit slow. At Topsham, as the wind had picked up and made the Exe estuary very choppy, Kate and Carol decided to paddle back to Exeter Quay while Martin and I paddled on to Exmouth Sailing Club. The crossing was very lumpy but we made good time and soon overtook slower paddlers who had set off earlier.

Winds speed forecast about 12 to 15 mph
